Oviedo Celebrating Euro Cup Championship 2008

Written by Alfonso Muñoz on June 29, 2008 – 4:49 pm

As most of you know, at least if you like soccer, Spain has won the Euro Cup Soccer Championship 2008. Here in my country soccer is favourite sport and for the last years we didn’t have anything important to celebrate. After the match people went out of home to meet each other and spend the time shouting, jumping into the fountain, laughing… It was a great opportunity to film some moments of this incredible party. This is Oviedo, my town, not a very big one with about 250k-300k inhabitants, and these are Spanish supporters celebrating our victory:

These videos were taken with my Nokia N81 mobile phone.

Thanks for the videos - I was wishing television here in the the States would show more of the celebrations - I guess I should be glad that they at least broadcast the game on a non-cable station. It was a great game and I was so happy to see Spain win!!!

Hi Kim, you are wellcome :) . I’m glad to see supporters out of Spain, great!

And for the match, honestly Spain deserved to win because it played far better than Germany. The streets were totally crowded and as you can see at the end of both videos the firecrackers were strong, perhaps too strong… :?

    See you! :D
